Pumori is a beautiful 7000m+ peak opened for climbing in Nepal. Mr. Gerhard Lenser was the first person to reach the summit in 1962 as a part of a German/Swiss team. This expedition to Pumori starts after a flight to Lukla, the only airstrip in the Everest region. After a fairly difficult trek of 7-8 days we reach the base camp of Pumori. Around day 13-29 we do the expedition after proper acclimatization and proper training around the base camp. About 20 expedition groups scale the summit of this peak every year.
Pumori is a beautiful pyramid shaped peak spreading in Nepal and Tibet and has a height of 23,495 ft. It dominates the skyline behind Kala Pataar (19,000 ft). This is a very easy peak to identify because of its unique shape.”Pumori” means “Unmarried Daughter” in the language of Sherpas. This peak is also famous as the training peak before climbing Mount Everest. This peak is graded as technically difficult and a group size of maximum 10-12 group members is considered Ideal for expedition. Pumori expedition is a life time experience as the summit offers mesmerizing view of the surrounding peaks in the Everest region.
