The trail to south base camp cuts straight to the heart of the Kanchenjunga massif, climbing over vertiginous ridges and plunging into seemingly bottomless valleys. In the space of two weeks, you will cover, more than 15,000m of altitude change, gaining a maximum elevation of 4800m, on a par with the summit of Mont Blanc.
The rewards for this effort are enormous the trail passes through remote limbu village that see few outsider and climb to the very foot of Kanchenjunga, for the kind of views normally reserved for mountaineers.
